Beach-Club (still a great resort destination) but no longer on the water's edge)
 December 2003

Packing, Moving, Packing, Moving, Packing, Moving, Packing, Moving...

YES;  the 18 month wait is over - the Beach Club is SOLD (actually that happened on 26 November) and the new place will close on 15 Decmber, (That's tomorrow as I write this!)

Today is Sunday, 14th, and we've been packing packing packing packing, and the stuff is 'mostly ready'...

Our new address (assuming everything goes well) is going to be (tomorrow at 10:30a.m. or so?):

You can put the above address, etc.  into   http://www.mapquest.com    and  you can then see  (almost)where we'll be, and if you zoom-out a couple of steps, you'll actually see "Great Pocket" ( a body of water)  due-east of our house about 3/4 mile.  This 'Mapquest' address actually shows us on 'S.E. Miles Grant Road - but the 'true' Great Pocket Trail address is slightly to the south and east of what is shown on Mapquest.  YES _ We've written and telephoned MapQuest, and they claim it's not their fault?  I do think that there's some significant 'problems' with the "911" database(s), and learned about this, earlier this year, when in my GIS-GPS coursework there was a homework assignment about the issue of what is/are valid 'abbreviations' for "South East".  That was an illuminating home-work assignment, to say the least.   Then when we got involved in the legal-mumbo-umbo on this place, and I had to change electric and trash-pick-up and telephone and what-not, from 8 Perriwinkle to 5011 S.E. Great Pocket Trail, I learned that "Se" is what is in the (911) database for us.   Needless to say there's things bigger than us that have real problems.

However, - I'm assured by the local Martin County Emergency people that they really do know where we are - but the fact that the database(s) have been wrong for up to 40 months doesn't give me a lot of confidence.

ANYWAYso - this month the 'big-deal' is the pack-move-un-pack and get organized into the new place on Great Pocket Trail with a 'real' studio for Ms. Wong and a 'real' Shop for Mr. Bill (with Airconditioning!!! - meaning I can work all summer long!)

AND Bill's Mom & Step-dad are arriving on their boat on the evening of 21 December (that's a Sunday), and staying a couple of nights, then going a bit-further-south for Christmas Dinner in Boca Raton with some Jacksonvillians also on their boat.

May's friend Ms. Lily is arriving on the 17th, into Palm Beach International (airport) - right near the 'Art Center' in Palm Beach where May spends a lot of her time with her pottery-things in the kilns down there.

We've contracted with "Golden Gate Movers" for 4 guys and a truck on Friday morning - to do the "BIG_STUFF" which we hope there's only a 'bit' left on Friday ...

Do keep in touch -more to come when we get moved...
