BeachWeb - November 2010
Today is Saturday, 13th, and the month is half-gone - but we're 'half-baked' around here so it's 'o.k.'?
I've been trike-riding here, there, everywhere - and one day I went for a ride and found this:
The "Great Inland Sea" _ courtesy of the Martin County
"water-main-breakage"... - needless to say it was fixed in a while
but I had to ride the trike through water
that was nearly a foot deep on the way south - (at the height of the
break / leakage) - but on the way back - several hours later, there was
no more than a couple of inches of water on the sidewalk
Before (to the left) and after (to the right):
Small 'yard-project' to take-out all the old and ookie roots and
replace with 'yard-pavers' - to make a place to put some potted-plants
and some other things, but had to bury the yard-irrigation-cables
underneath the pavers - in any-case a short (3-5 day) project but make
the place look a LOT better than all those old dead-roots. As
ALWAYS, though, the concrete (against the house) to the left is neither
level nor straight, and the rail-road-tie(s) to the right are neither
level nor straight - so - well - the bottom-line is that it's like most
projects where level and straight make things 'look-nice' - one has to
'compromise' - further proof that "Everything in life is a trade-off,
EVERYTHING"... -
AND - well - went to Jacksonville, to visit Mom, and put a 'seatbelt'
on her trike (for safety), and buy her a bicycle helmet (and fit it and
so-forth) and bottom-line, I (and the care-givers) feel much 'safer'
now about Mom riding her trike.
I also went for a very short ride on my trike up there...
