Bill
Schell's "BeachWeb" for November 2011
Well - WELL - WELL!!!!!!
I
had a PROBLEM in the YARD (not unusual for Mr. Bill)... - I "THOUGHT"
someone (who shall remain nameless) - had "MAYBE" tried to mow my
'north-40' - and they'd run-over the HOSE - and very (VERY) good hose
it was... - HOWEVER, being the sleuth / detective that I am, I examined
- at great length - and found - to my astonishment -
'small-teeth-marks' instead of lawn-mower-blade-cuts in the hose ends -
and a BUNCH of hose-ends / pieces it was.... - So ... - the only
'obvious' answer was some little CRITTER has been eating my HOSE!!!! -
UGH UGH UGH - so - I put it all back together and smeared silicon
grease all along it (maybe that will keep the critter(s) from gnawing
on it?! - Pictures here: - small LARGE
Took
some pictures of various & sundry flowers along my tricycling
route, today (Thursday, 17th) (did over 60 miles !!! - very
unusual)...
I can't seem to find out what this is - can anyone tell me?
From what I can find out (which may or may not be correct) this is a "Yellow Daisy" ?
the blossom is 'about' 1 1/2" across (about 35-40mm)...
Apparently these are a variation on the 'Morning Glory' family of flowers. They have a root / tuber that can
be eaten, some say. These were fairly obviously 'wild' - in that there were no others nearby... - My good friend
Ms. Ruth (also a fellow amateur radio operator) helped me with the name "Morning Glory" and after studying
that for some time - I'm fairly convinced she's correct...
These purple flowers (found somewhere on Jupiter Island) ALMOST look like there is some sort of light deep inside them.
HOWEVER, please note that this is an iPhone picture and NOTHING STRANGE was done to the flowers, nor the picture
Here
is a picture of a bird (some sort of BIG bird) taken (sorry about the
quality) from the roof of a 14 story condo-building in Jupiter - where
I went to work on a camera-system this week ... Several birds
were VERY VERY Close to the roof-top soaring in the breezes off the
ocean that hit the condo-building and go UP (like we would like to do
in a hang-glider or a para-glider. the picture is not great but
the viewing of the birds WAS GOOD - and I wished for something
considerably better with a considerably better LENS than the iPhone...
- sorry - no 'Larger' version...
AANNDD - here's a 'funky' picture of Mr. Bill wearing his Mom's 'Funky' hat - this-past-weekend in Jacksonville...
WELL _ Murphy's Law (of
(video) camera-positioning: - While I was away - (working on camera
system at "Bath Tub Beach" - Ms. May says, since I "TOOK OUT" the
'Bobcat Camera' - then the Bobcat(s) visited this afternoon, and she
had an excellent view from her studio window - and the one that came
(jumped over our fence) to investigate our yard didn't know Ms. May
was watching him. - so - if you WANT IMAGES - sorry - the animals
only arrive when the camera is somewhere else. Our video-camera is
now in a window in the house, hoping to get squirrel pictures...
last for this update is the following 'view' of the full-moon - we
got married on a full-moon - so this is especially nice for us
I've been 'challenged' to try and ride the Trike over 5,000 miles
this calendar-year (2011). (that will make 15,000 miles since I got
the Trike, just over 3 years ago...
That means I have about 639 miles left to do in the next 42 days (15.21 miles per day (updated on Saturday, 19th)...
-
we'll see if I can do this - not sure - it will be close or tight or whatever... - but
I think I'll make it. All this 'assumes' that I'm able
to not get sick, and that the weather cooperates (that's probably the most basic of my needs to complete my goal!)
I did 60 plus miles on a recent day... - ...jpg file here (still to come, sorry),
and ...kml
file here
We've also discovered, a conversation with this little-guy
- early in the morning (or late in the afternoon) can help put a
'different perspective' on whatever is going-on in your life. - He
REALLY PAYS ATTENTION (but sometimes you wonder when he's munching
on something green - where his "Attention Span " lies?
We've discovered the 'elixir of life' - something so GOOD we have to
share it with everyone...
take a bit of this;
a bit of that (Canada-Dry Ginger Ale (we figure you can figure how
and where to find this); mix together; add ice; amazing
stuff
Here's Mr. Panda Bear and Mr. Pooh Bear after watching the movie
called "A Bear Named Winnie". - IF you're pretty smart you can guess
the rest, but if not you can check-out Mr. PB & Mr. PB on Mr.
PB's web-site...
